Shungite pear shape pendants
The practice of wearing pendants dates from the Stone Age – back then they were mostly regarded as amulets or talismans. People would wear such objects as teeth, stones, and shells around their necks. Out of all that we`d prefer natural stones – shells can have sharp edges and wearing teeth does not seem socially acceptable. Natural stones on the other hand are the perfect material for pendants – they are durable, can be polished and given any shape and also have rich natural color. The simple, classic, and stylish pear shape is timeless and extremely popular jewelry form. It is simple yet elegant. Our pear shape pendants are made from shungite from Zazhoginskaya mine near the village Shunga in mysterious and beautiful Karelia.
