ASTROPHYLLITE SPHERES

There are two types of astrophyllite rough which behave totally different when cut. One has shiny astrophyllite needles spread evenly through the matrix. It is so-called "rain" astrophyllite, and it looks nice in usual polished spheres. Another type has gorgeous astrophyllite stars. This material is valued most by the stone lovers, but, unfortunately, when cut and polished, it looses most of its beauty, becoming grey and dull. To save those stars, we leave one side wild, making half-spheres from this material.
